I am a board-certified psychiatrist who works with children, adolescents, families, and adults. As a psychiatrist, I have been trained as a therapist and am also a medical doctor who can prescribe medication. I have completed additional subspecialty clinical training in treating children and adolescents as well as a research fellowship in developmental neuroscience, both at Stanford University. I served as Chief Resident and completed both my General Psychiatry residency and medical school at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine after graduating from U.C. Berkeley. I have been honored with national awards for both my clinical care and my research.
My Approach:
Our time and attention are our most irreplaceable resources, yet so many things can get in the way of being fully present with the people and activities that matter most. The time and space to slow down, to understand oneself, and to be understood, are more important than ever.
Whether working with a young person or an adult, I take a developmental perspective. Each of us has a unique life story that influences who we are in the present and who we aspire to become in the future. One size does not fit all when it comes to a treatment plan that works for you and/or your child. In order to provide the best possible treatment, I strive to understand each person who works with me as an individual.
